  • No. The location at 3231 Maywood Drive is the business office and warehouse for the Food Bank. There is no direct distribution of food from that location. All the food that is received and stored at the Food Bank is provided to our partner pantries where food can be accessed. Where can I get food?

  • There are many pantry locations throughout Klamath and Lake Counties that provide food. They are open at different times and locations. Please refer to the current pantry schedule for details. It can change frequently.

What is the Produce Connection?

  • The Produce Connection is a program compiled of many distribution sites that allow the public to access fresh fruits and vegetables. These sites are open at various times and locations depending on the time of the year with more sites during summer months due to the availability of fresh produce.  Please refer to the current schedule for details. There are no eligibility requirements and anyone from our community can enjoy the fresh fruits and vegetables.

Where does the food come from?

  • We receive food through the Oregon Food Bank, USDA, grocery store partners, local donors, local purchasing, and local home gardeners. Because of our buying power, we can turn every dollar donated into 3 meals for our community. Our network distributes this food through food pantries, meal sites, and supplemental agencies to all who need it.

How often can I visit a food pantry?

  • The Klamath-Lake Counties Food Bank allows qualifying individuals to visit our pantries 15 times a year. Those 15 visits can be used as you see fit to meet the needs of your circumstances.

How do I ask for help?

  • Visit our office at 3231 Maywood Drive. We will get you registered for food assistance and issue you a Food Bank card that you can present at a food pantry. If you live in a rural area, you can call the office at 541-882-1223, register over the phone and a card number will be issued to you. The pantry location you visit will be able to look up that number and issue you a physical card at their location.

What can I donate to the Food Bank?

  • The Food Bank accepts dry and canned food donations that are “shelf-stable” or nonperishable. Examples are: peanut butter, canned soup, canned fruit, canned vegetables, canned stew, canned fish, canned beans, pasta and rice. We also accept non-food items such as personal hygiene items, diapers and other household items that might assist a family who struggle to afford them.

  • The Food Bank cannot accept items needing refrigeration, leftovers, or packages that have been opened or have compromised packaging. We also cannot accept eggs, home canned items, and/or baked goods.

What do I do if I lost my Food Bank card (L2F)?

What will I get in a food box?

  • You will typically receive a variety of fresh produce, protein, dairy, and shelf-stable products. Each box will typically have enough food for a three to five-day supply. Please note that our food items vary each month, and we cannot guarantee that any specific item will always be available.

Can someone else pick up food for me?

  • Yes, if you are home-bound or otherwise unable to pick up food for yourself, contact our office and we will make note that someone else is authorized to pick up a food box for you.
