WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE...

As the director of the food bank I made a decision to lose weight and raise money for the food bank.

My 2012 New Year’s resolution was to lose 50 pounds by my 50th birthday. I asked the community to pledge a donation of $50 or 50 pounds of food if I lost 50 pounds by my 50th birthday which was the 5th of September. I wanted to raise $5,000 for the food bank.

Accepting a donation from Sue Geremia with Pacific Crest Federal Credit Union

Here I am. I was accepting a wonderful donation from Sue Geremia with Pacific Crest Federal Credit Union in mid December of 2011.

Niki before

I began my "50-50-50 Weight Loss Challenge" January 7, 2012. This is me on the food pallet scale in the warehouse.

Niki After

I lost 45 pounds. The potatoes represent the amount lost.

I was a gymnast and coached gymnastics until I was 30. I had another goal… to perform a round –off, back handspring.

I asked those who made a pledge to send $45 for the weight loss and the other $5 for the back flip Grins!

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

It wasn’t easy, but well worth it. I could not have done it without the support of my husband (who lost 40 pounds). There’s Shelby King with the Herald and News who followed my progress and was so inspirational AND the Klamath Gymnastics Academy staff and students who gave me such encouragement and training.

We didn’t raise $5,000. WE RAISED NEARLY $7,000!!!!!
